No Hard Work Goes Unrewarded

09 October 2023

Note down two rules of entrepreneurship.

  1. Nothing goes unrewarded.
  2. Not everything makes you the money the way you expect. But it might bring up a totally different source you never thought of.

Why?

When I started my fashion eCommerce, I worked on it day and night, coded it like a mad dog, perfected it every way I could.

I chose the latest tech stack of ASP.NET core and chose nopCommerce as my eCommerce platform.

I customized it to my needs, developed plugins for payment processing, SMS validations, shipment tracking and what not.

Do you know what happened after I launched?

NOTHING.

It failed.

I was hoping this will turn out to be the money printing machine.

It didn't. It failed.

I was hoping this will help me leave my 9-5.

It didn't. It failed.

I had to finally close it.

But let this newsletter is not about how it failed.

It's about the reward that I got out of it.

"Where is the reward in it?" you might ask.

So here is the answer.

After I closed that eCommerce site, I started another eCommerce site for selling the plugins I coded for that first eCommerce and made money out of those.

The interesting part is the plugins are still being sold consistently after 9 years. :)

There are very simple lessons here.

Try more things. Try new things. Try more ways. Try new ways

Just Try.

You never know what might work.

Repeat those two rules again with me (or every time you fear to try)

  1. Nothing goes unrewarded.
  2. Not everything makes you the money the way you expect. But it might bring up a totally different source you never thought of.
